Save command

Summary

Saves the current file.

Description

This command saves the document with the current file name unless the document is untitled. If you want to change the encoding or the return method, select the Save As command or the Save with Encoding (multiple menu) command.

If the file is untitled, the Save As dialog box will be displayed, which allows you to enter a file name.

If the document is in Fast View mode and has edits, EmEditor asks whether to merge the edits into the file now, or to save only the changes to a diff file and leave the original file untouched, depending on the options on the Fast View page of the Customize dialog box. See To Open and Edit Huge Files in Fast View Mode for details.
